Laska Nygaard: Pilates

Laska Nygaard began practice of mind-body exercise as a young child. She has studied, practiced and taught Tai Chi, Pilates and Yoga in China, Hong Kong, Washington D.C. and the Twin Cities, and has taught group and mind-body fitness classes since 1997. Laska is trained in Stott Pilates, and has received training in PhysicalMind "The Method" Pilates as well.
Laska's style is inspiring, energetic, yet calming. Her focus is on motivating clients to reach for their physical and mental goals while respecting their unique physical attributes. Clients are invited to remain open to the feelings of their bodies and to bring that awareness into their practice, for the ultimate benefits.
Laska can testify personally to the restorative power of Pilates, which has helped restore her physically and emotionally since a car accident in 2000. She lives in St Paul with her husband, two small children, and devoted cat. She is eternally curious and doubts her studies in the mind-body arena could ever end.
