Colleen received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Minnesota, Morris in 1999. She then went on to receive her Masters of Oriental Medicine (M.OM.) degree in 2004 from the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MCAOM) at Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU), located in Bloomington, Minnesota. There she received about 3,000 hours of didactic and clinical instruction in acupuncture, Chinese herbology, and related studies such as Tui Na (medical massage), Qi Gong, traditional food therapy, nutrition, etc. As a MCAOM student, she practiced acupuncture and herbology at Edith Davis teaching clinic. She also had the opportunity to practice at the Courage Center, a medical rehabilitation facility, serving people with physical disabilities and sensory impairments. A
fter graduation, she practiced for four years in Iowa City, treating everything from back pain to depression.
Colleen believes your body contains the capacity for healing, and acupuncture can be a catalyst to initiate the healing process. Colleen is a NCCAOM Board Certified Diplomat of Acupuncture, and licensed to practice acupuncture in Minnesota.
