Heal Your Whole Self.

Dear Friends of Healing Waters,

When one door closes, another opens.

Mary Jo Lohn As of Friday, May 6, 2016, Healing Waters closed its door following 13 years of service to the community.

When I opened the doors in June of 2003, I was a very excited woman on a mission - to bring science based complementary therapies to my community of White Bear Lake and beyond. We offered multiple disciplines of bodywork, acupuncture and healthy classes, in our own classroom, such as yoga, qigong, Pilates, tai chi, Yamuna body rolling, personal development and so much more. It was exciting, successful and good!

Approximately 2005, the Big Box massage franchises arrived and we felt the impact. Then there was the Great Recession of 2008, and who didn't feel that. Road construction on Highway 61 for three consecutive summers impacted business along its path to the tune of 50% or more. We moved in July 2015 to a new office on Highway 96 only to be hit with the 35E Bridge at Highway 96 coming down and construction slated till November 2016. These things make people want to avoid the hassle and take alternate routes.

Through it all, our goal was to always provide a quality, compassionate experience delivered by well educated, experienced, mindful therapists and instructors. My prayer is that it was noted, and that we became a benchmark of a quality complementary health center. I have loved every step of the process, and life is all about the process.

I will be continuing in a solo practice and at a location yet to be determined, but I will remain in the area.

The specialties I am passionate about are CranioSacral Therapy, Lymph Drainage Therapy and holistic body-mind therapy with people who have experienced trauma. My graduate degree focused on processing trauma through the body, a concept which is now taking hold. Recent training has included CranioSacral Therapy work with Dementia and Alzheimer's and I will be immediately working at Waverly Gardens, where Healing Waters has been since 2005 and Johanna Shores, both excellent Presbyterian Homes facilities. I will also do some massage.

So, it's about re-structuring and flowing with life's changes, rather than being challenged by a structure that no longer thrives.

I sincerely thank you for your part in my journey. I continue to deeply love the work and honor and respect the opportunity to provide these services to you.

We learn from one another as we continue to grow. I look forward to seeing you in the future.

Watch for future notices on my website and newsletter emails. Also, feel free to search my name or specialties online.

In Health and Healing,
Mary Jo Lohn
